Togekiss's excellent typing, reliable recovery, and boosting potential make it a solid bulky sweeper that can also defensively check threats like Hydreigon, Salamence, and Conkeldurr, pressure Pokemon like Amoonguss and Zarude, and provide cleric support for its team. Togekiss also reliably answers bulky teams by winning the one-on-one one against common stall members like Chansey, Hippowdon, Skarmory, and Salamence with Nasty Plot + Heal Bell. However, Togekiss is troubled by plenty of faster common offensive Pokemon like Thundurus-T, Nihilego, and Excadrill, and it often needs heavy support to break through Pokemon like Celesteela and the aforementioned Nihilego. Togekiss is also reliant on its Heavy-Duty Boots to check offensive threats like Hurricane Salemence, so it should never take a Knock Off. It also suffers from four-moveslot syndrome, as it must choose between Heal Bell to clear its team's status and break through Chansey reliably, Thunder Wave to cripple checks like Nihilego, and Fire Blast to wipe out Steel-type answers like Excadrill and Celesteela.

Heal Bell handles status spreaders like Chansey, Hippowdon, and Umbreon for the team. Thunder Wave is also a notable option that heavily cripples many offensive Pokemon, such as Nihilego and Cobalion; however, the lack of Heal Bell means Togekiss can struggle to break through defensive walls with Toxic, such as Hippowdon, Chansey, and Inner Focus Umbreon. Fire Blast is an option that OHKOes or significantly damages Steel-types like Scizor, Celesteela, Excadrill and wears down neutral targets like Thundurus-T, but it fails to cripple checks such as Nihilego or break through defensive Pokemon such as Chansey. Togekiss can run 172 Speed EVs with more Special Defense investment to further improve its matchup versus Salamence and Primarina; with this, Togekiss also underspeeds Rotom-W to fully recover from Volt Switch damage, but it struggles to pressure Rotom-W and can be PP stalled out of Heal Bell more easily by Toxic + Pain Split.

Togekiss fits well on bulky offense, balance, and semi-stall teams teams due to its ability to check Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Salamence, to provide cleric support to teammates, and break through opposing bulky teams. Ground-types like Hippowdon, Seismitoad, and Nidoqueen provide an Electric immunity to deal with Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H, as well as much appreciated Stealth Rock support. Knock Off absorbers like Amoonguss and Cobalion help Togekiss keep its Heavy-Duty Boots, allowing it to come in freely on Stealth Rock while providing an excellent Fighting-type check in Cobalion's case. Amoonguss can also use Stun Spore support to paralyze targets like Cobalion, Nihilego, Keldeo, and Primarina for Togekiss, while Cobalion can provide Stealth Rock support and counter Nihilego. Slower offensive threats such as Nidoking, Scizor, and Primarina greatly appreciate the wallbreaking opportunities provided by Togekiss's Thunder Wave or Heal Bell-enabled stallbreaking. Semi-stall teammates such as Umbreon and Chansey appreciate Togekiss checking Conkeldurr for them and providing Heal Bell support so they can run superior moves, such as Toxic and Stealth Rock, respectively. Calm Mind Slowking appreciates Togekiss's cleric support, as it can pressure Pokemon such as Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro more freely and check Steel-types such as Jirachi and Celesteela for Togekiss.

Choice Scarf Togekiss is a solid role-compression option that outspeeds and beats faster Pokemon like Azelf and Cobalion, cripples defensive walls such as Chansey with Trick, and still provides other utility options such as Heal Bell, but its Stealth Rock weakness means it must be paired with more reliable forms of entry hazard removal. A full utility set with Heal Bell, Thunder Wave, and Roost trades Togekiss's offensive potential for a more defensive role as a cleric and speed control user. It can also choose to drop one of the two utility moves for Defog, but its bad matchup against most Stealth Rock users, such as Nihilego, makes the Defogger role better fulfilled by Togekiss's teammates, and it is better off being paired with better entry hazard removal options. Choice Specs is an option to let Togekiss lure in Pokemon such as Nihilego and Cobalion and KO them with Psyshock and Fire Blast, respectively, but it loses defensive utility without Roost, fails to break through defensive Pokemon such as Chansey without Air Slash flinches, and struggles with its Stealth Rock weakness.


Checks and Counters

**Electric-types**: Thundurus-T, Raikou, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H resist Air Slash, are immune to Thunder Wave, and take little from Fire Blast, forcing Togekiss out and making its job much harder. However, Thundurus-T doesn't want to switch into Togekiss long-term, and Rotom-W and Rotom-H can struggle to pressure Togekiss, as it can just mitigate Volt Switch damage with Roost.

**Rock-types**: Nihilego counters Togekiss by virtue of its massive Special Defense, faster Speed, and KO potential, though it hates being crippled by Thunder Wave. Lycanroc-D outspeeds Togekiss and immediately threatens it with either Stone Edge or Accelerock. Rhyperior, while uncommon, can easily counter Togekiss with Stealth Rock and the threat of its STAB moves.

**Steel-types**: Jirachi, Excadrill, and Celesteela take little damage from Air Slash and can threaten it back. Excadrill in particular is immune to Thunder Wave. Scizor and Cobalion can offensively pressure Togekiss but can't switch in reliably due to their neutrality to Flying-type moves. All of these Pokemon, however, must scout for Fire Blast from Togekiss before switching in.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Specially defensive walls such as Chansey and Umbreon can leverage their extreme tankiness and immunity to flinching, respectively, to poison non-Heal Bell Togekiss.

Currently sounds awkward imo. make it a solid bulky sweeper in the tier. (RC) (added period) It is capable of taking down common threats like Zarude, Hydreigon and Amoonguss(AC) Togekiss while also acts acting as a fantastic answer to Stall teams.(RC) added period being It is able to 1v1 common Stall members like Chansey, Quagsire and Salamence with the combination of Nasty Plot and Heal Bell. Togekiss (AC) however (AC) is troubled by plenty of common offensive Pokemon that outspeed it like Thundurus-T, Nihilego and Excadrill whilst often needing heavy support to break through Pokemon like Celesteela and the aforementioned Nihilego. This is a giant run on sentence of information. Try to split it up more if you can. Togekiss is also reliant on its Heavy Duty Boots Heavy-Duty Boots to check offensive threats, thus strongly dislikes taking Knock Off.

- With Nasty Plot, Togekiss can break through bulkier teams by relying that rely on passive Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Skarmory and Hippowdon to set up on. slow down threats. Point isn't bad, just feel like it's weird to talk about what it relies to succeed on rather than what Togekiss takes advantage of.

- Fire Blast ensures Togekiss OHKO's Scizor, as well as giving it a fantastic way to deal heavy damage to Steel-types like Celesteela and Excadrill who may be a problem to take down otherwise.

- Heal Bell removes any status condition from Togekiss and its teammates, allowing it to handle the likes of Chansey, Hippowdon and Umbreon, as well as provide excellent utility for its team.

Really like these 2 points above. I think going further we should add a little meat about the tradeoff of heal bell and fire blast, as I feel like this may get confusing for newer players since we talk a lot about how Togekiss can set up on these bulkier Pokemon a lot already.

- Roost heavily increases Togekiss' longevity whilst helping it better check offensive threats like Zarude, Hydreigon and Zygarde-10%.

- Thunder Wave is also a notable option for Togekiss to use, being able to heavily cripple a wide range of offensive Pokemon while making it easier for Togekiss to break through defensive Pokemon. If we are putting this here then I think it's worth adding to the set, otherwise put it in the other options section.

This makes Togekiss a good bulky sweeper option for teams, as it is given a lot of opportunities to set up in a match.

- Ground-types like Hippowdon and Excadrill provide an Electric immunity to deal with Thundurus-T, Rotom-Wash and Rotom-Heat, as well as provide much appreciated Stealth Rock support. I would add a note about how they resist poison typing too even though it is less prevelant.

- Knock Off absorbers like Amoonguss and Cobalion help Togekiss keep its Heavy Duty Boots, allowing it to come in freely on Stealth Rock whilst providing an excellent Fighting-type check in Cobalion's case. Togekiss also has great synergy with cobalion, as it can take Fighting-type attacks that threaten Cobalion easily.

- Slower offensive threats such as Nidoking, Scizor and Primarina greatly appreciate Togekiss' ability to slow and cripple opposing Pokemon with Thunder Wave, as well as its ability to break through stall. In return, they are able to punch holes into the opposing team to aid Togekiss in its job as a bulky sweeper. heavily threaten checks and counters to Togekiss, which will make sweeping the opponents' team easier. If thunder wave note gets moved make sure to move this with it.

- Choice Scarf and Choice Specs are both valid options for Togekiss to boost its offensive potential, letting it outspeed Azelf, Zygarde-10% and Cobalion with a Choice Scarf and being able to OHKO Amoonguss and Keldeo with Choice Specs, but leaves Togekiss vulnerable to Stealth Rock and locks it into one move, giving up valuable versatility.

- A full utility set with Heal Bell and Defog or Roost trades Togekiss' offensive potential for a more consistent utility team member, taking on a much more defensive role. While this set isn't bad, its sub-optimal and the set above is generally preferred on a wider range of teams. I'd explain why it's sub optimal a little. Something like "it's sub-optimal due to struggling with breaking prevelant Stealth Rock users."

**Faster Offensive Threats**: Fast offensive threats like Axcadrill Excadrill, Zygarde-10% and Cobalion are all able to directly threaten Togekiss and either force it out or OHKO it in Lycanroc-D's case Zygarde note is weird here considering how much we talked about how Togekiss can handle it. I think it should be one or the other, or we make it clear that Togekiss is a very soft check to zygarde.

Togekiss's excellent typing, reliable recovery, and boosting potential make it a solid bulky sweeper that can also defensively check threats like Hydreigon, Salamence, and Conkeldurr, pressure Pokemon like Amoonguss and Zarude, and provide cleric support for its team. Togekiss also reliably answers bulky teams by winning the one-on-one one against common stall members like Chansey, Hippowdon, Skarmory, and Salamence with Nasty Plot + Heal Bell. However, Togekiss is troubled by plenty of faster common offensive Pokemon like Thundurus-T, Nihilego, and Excadrill, (ac) and it often needs heavy support to break through Pokemon like Celesteela and the aforementioned Nihilego. Togekiss is also reliant on its Heavy-Duty BootsHeavy-Boots to check offensive threats like Hurricane Salemence, so it should never take a Knock Off.
